An interministerial consultative session, dedicated to the review of the opportunities for activation of Poland’s cooperation with African countries, took place on April 2, 2008 at the premises of the MFA Palace, Foksal Str. 6, Warsaw. The session was presided by Mr. Ryszard Schnepf, Undersecretary of State in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among the participants were the representatives of nine ministries of Polish government as well as experts from academia, non-governmental organizations and missionary societies engaged in aid projects being realized in Africa.
The meeting was organized by MFA’s Department Africa and Middle East in a bid to launch the process of internal consultations aimed at preparing comprehensive strategy blueprints for Poland’s cooperation with Africa, which would take into account both the requirements posed by bilateral relations as well as multilateral context and committments, inter alia the Africa – European Union Strategic Partnership documents adopted at the Second EU-Africa Summit (Lisbon 8-9 December 2007).
